URI ZOLLER obtained a BSc (Summa cum Laude) in Chemistry and MSc in Industrial Chemistry from the Technion in Haifa, SM in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1972), EdD in Science Education from Harvard University (1973) and DSc in Organic Chemistry (1974) from the Technion in Israel. Following a Senior Lecturer position at the Open University and Haifa University -oranim, becoming in the latter associate (1992) and full Professor of Science Education & Chemistry (1994). Since 2004 he is an active Research Professor Emeritus. Uris research focused and keep focusing on HOCS-promoted TEACHING, ASSESSMENT and LEARNING of science, chemistry and environmental education in the Science-Technology-Environment-Society (STES) context; Organic and Environmental chemistry in relation to the synthesis/chemistry of strained, small rings containing sulfur; as well as the occurrence/ homologic/ isomeric distribution and the ecotoxicological impact of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), surfactants, hormones, pharmaceuticals and polycyclic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in surface and ground- water/aquifers. All of the above in the context of SCIENCE/CHEMISTRY/ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION for SUSTAINABILITY.
